AGGRESSIVE DOG TRAINING (full video) Meet "Baron" 6 years old GSD who is very territorial and aggressive towards people with a biting people history, his owners have tried everything for the last 5 years to stop his aggression, including sending him away for board and train for 3 weeks, Baron is always locked away when people come over. He will bite if given a chance.
Today I met with the family at their home in Rhode Island and worked with them right in Baron's backyard. Here are clips of the training session that shows the entire training process.
His owner did write a review right after our training that read: Today was our, and I use our in regards to myself, my parents and our lovely GSD Baron, training session with Augusto and I was absolutely amazed at what transpired right in front of me. Baron is known among our family as been aggressive. I like to call it "putting the fear of Baron into people" as a joke. He is also territorial around the house and car, which is a known trait to GSDs.
Augusto started by testing him to see how he would need to approach the situation, which calmed a lot of our nerves because I was thinking "How's he going to get trained if he can't even get in the gate if Baron won't let him." That was the most magnificent part of the training, he incorporated you into it! He almost was training you at the same time. Because obviously, the training can't be just Augusto, we were eager to learn how to proceed on our own and show our progress until the next session. He would show us how to re-direct Baron's attention and correct bad behavior, in this case being Baron's aggression towards people.
He also incorporated life situations into the training. Running by Baron in the yard while one of us held him on a leash and another dog being in the yard! It was like witnessing a miracle. Especially at the end of the training session when Baron went from full training 'gear'(as we will call it) to just the leash in my hand with Baron sitting beside me while Augusto stood in front of me and shook my hand. Without Baron having a muzzle on. The first time Augusto approached me with Baron in the yard to pass the leash off to him, Baron started barking, growling and lunging.
To see this, It was an honest to god miracle. Baron's aggression is far from gone and he has more sessions/training to go through but what Augusto did with him and showed us, I have real hope for the future that Baron will be able to be a more confident dog, love-able dog(not just to us), and a true companion(also not to just us). I have the uppermost confidence in Augusto, Baron, my parents and myself that we'll come out on top in this situation. Augusto has a talent that is simply amazing to see and something that has to be watched. Also, as Baron's 'mom', I wouldn't put him in anyone else's hand to be trained at this point especially as he's 6 years old and that's a hard age to relearn but Augusto proved to me just today that 'old' dogs really can learn new tricks and change their ways with the right care and training. Can't thank you enough Augusto for helping us!
